Why do I want to go on this trip?-- A question with many answers. I think every answer I give people or every story I tell people ends up sort of the same way. I want to go on The World Race Gap Year for a couple of reasons. For starters, I love volunteer work and being in a position where I choose to go out and help others and see the positive impact I can have on their lives. But also, I find it to be the perfect opportunity to become the person I know God wants me to be and to live for others rather than living for myself. I’ve seen what it looks like to open your eyes and see that you ended up in a place you never thought was possible. It’s like all those stories you hear when you’re a kid of how you should be good or you might end up on the streets or in prison. They’re always just a story as a kid… until they’re not. It’s scary how easily you can wake up one day and look at your life and not recognize yourself anymore. So this trip is a way for me to have full focus on my relationship with God without distractions from home, help others out, and share my story with others showing how God opened up my eyes and saved me from a life full of darkness. I'm excited to go out and share my story with others and share the Gospel with those who need it, along with growing in my faith myself. I'm even more excited to share this journey with you!
